This is a complicated answer because it depends on what documents you need to gather and which consulate you must use for your appointment when applying for citizenship. Typically it can take 1-2 years to apply. After you apply, the Italian consulate has up to 2 years to recognize you as a citizen. Many cannot apply at a consulate. A court case is required.
